Character Name:Serenata Wildfire
Gender:Female
Character Age:20
Village:Kirigakure
Clan: Wildfire clan
Rank:Jounin
Element:Lightning
Techniques:genjutsu, taijutsu

Eyes:red
Hair:black
Appearance Description:Serenata Wildfire is below average height(5'4") and very slim. Her black hair reaches down past the middle of her back and is sometimes kept in a pony tail, its body and wave makes it appear kinda spikey and her bangs cover her left eye. Her eyes are sometimes mistaken for sharingan because of their blood red color and black ring through the center of the iris. Her attire is usually a white kimono with pink lotus flowers. Her skin is very fair almost pale, nails are painted red, and violet lipstick. Her lower lip is pierced with a chrome stud and the outside of her right ear has a small ring. Her navel is also pierced in four places with studs in a diamond shape and has a tattoo of music notes going around her waist like someone composed a song on her body.

Your Information:

Personality:Never has Serenata been one to openly speak her mind. She's quiet and shy but not at all timid. She speaks when she feels there is a need for something to be said, and holds herself with a reserved sense of esteem. Not always is she comfortable with a place of leadership but is always compatible with a team and usually has a subservient nature. For a shinobi her heart is too soft and too kind and will even weep a few silent tears for her fallen foes. No matter who it is Serenata does not discriminate either. She doesn't care if its a man, woman, or child, if they are her opponent she will not hold back, or show a lack of respect as she consideres this most unwise. Her moods can swing sometimes but for the most part is calm, passive, and content to just look up at the clouds or play a piece by Bach. It is a habit of hers to always greet anyone with a warm smile and may even convince them she has a genuine love for everyone with just the sparkle in her eye. But she has resigned herself to accepting the fact that she will have to kill or be killed.
Likes: Music, animals, nature, and dougnuts.
Dislikes:the calories and fat in doughnuts, and being called short.
Your Nindo/Motives:Music is life, or it can be death. Serenata is determined to prove that music is the blood and life of the universe and consideres it the language of the celestials. Her way is not only the way of the shinobi but the way of a musician who would love nothing more than a captive audience or to captivate the world with song.
History: Serenata Wildfire, the girl with a gift she didnt ask for, and wasnt sure if she wanted to use it but found a place and purpose for it and all its splendor and walked the path of the musician.

A small family clan has been cropping up in kirigakure known as the wildfire family. The wildfire are not born fighters but prefer music over combat and normally become performers, traveling artists, or non military careers.  From their time of begining to now there have been eight generations and among them is Serenata Wildfire. Her name means Serene Eavening song. The wildfire are not from any of the great nations but come from across the great sea and take their roots from the Celtics of Europe. Since they are foreigners to the ninja world they have not yet been permitted to take part in any military personnel of any government. Upon arriving to these lands only a handful of lost pilgrims arrived and were seen as "foreign devils" and many ninja sought to destroy them. Most of the murdurs took place by the hands of the kazekage and the Mizukage but most all nations rejected this new breed for fear that if blood lines were mixed with the foreigners that precious kekkai genkai would be lost and their military prowess would weaken. Serenatas ancestors Henry and Isabella Wildfire where chased to the edge of the desert in the land of wind by the Kazekage and Mizukage of their day. They were about to be slaughtered but The wildfires confronted the kages and played the most angelic duet of the ages on a harp and a cello. The Kages were so moved by the sound of their music they agreed to allow them to live so long as they continue to bring their "light" to this world but under the conditions they take up no arms in any military or intermarry with other bloodlines. Despite their promise an Uchiha married into their clan giving them red eyes from the forth generation on. They did not inherit any of the sharingan powers but since then none of them have ever had any optical disabilities, diseases, or even the slightest of a astigmatism, and all were born with perfect 20/20 vision.

Despite their plans on how to raise their daughter Serenata wanted to be a kunoichi like her friends. She thought it was like a great big summer camp the way her best friend described it. She would play ninja with them in the streets throwing card board shuriken at each other or trying to sneak up on people and throw smoke bombs. It wasnt until a family friend who recently became a chunnin came over and she eavesdropped on her parents witness his story about a mission gone wrong. They invited the man over to comfort him as his team was killed. She watched as he broke down in tears and was able to describe in detail how they died. That night she couldn't sleep one bit and kept staring at the window expecting a masked figure with a headband to burst in and stab her eyes out or strangle her to death like what happened to that young boy and girl. But then she realized she had to become a ninja, because if there was evil and suffering like this out there, then there had to be someone who would be brave enough to stop it.
Without her parents consent she entered at the academy and begged the sensei to let her join. He refused and she was sent away. But that night she snuck out with her violin and went to the woods to stand on a hill that she liked to sit on and watch the stars and began to play. She played her heart out, no music sheets, or any song she was taught, she just played what came from her soul and vented her frustrations and feelings of helplessness. The forest became still and enchanted by the song, and everything stopped moving. When the final note was played and she opened her eyes it was as if the whole world had stopped to listen. But, suddenly a hand grabbed her mouth from behind and pulled her into a grip. It was the sensei of the academy, he looked sternly at her and asked her where she learned how to play that song. She couldn't answer because she didn't even know. He explained to her she had played an ancient song used to perform a powerful but old genjutsu known as "Chains of Fantasia." and if she knew how to apply her chakra to it, she could have just put him and his squad out of. Seeing her potential he offered to train her in private until she had what it took to graduate from the academy. She failed his test six years in a row but then barely managed to get by the seventh time. She was still flinching at punches and was hopeless at any taijutsu or ninjutsu but she had the basics down and he figured if she was willing to work that hard as a student she would prosper as a genin under a better teacher than him and was chosen for a three man genin squad.

Her career as a Genin wasnt very eventful. Chores, errands, and helping old ladies cross the street wasn't very glamorous but everywhere she went she took her violin and practiced while on missions, waiting for their sensei, or during her down time. By then she was able to run, jump, and watch her suroundings with her peripheral vision while playing and not dropping a single note. Even her team mates would admit she was good but found it a drag they had to take care of her so much and that she wasn't always helpful, in fact, useless sometimes. They usually told her to just drop the stupid violin and pick up a kunai. But her sensei figured if she cant fight she may as well be the medical unit of the team and trained to treat a wound, do small surgeries, use antidotes for poisons,  perform CPR, and acupuncture. One day when one of the two boys on her team asked her out suddenly the sensei appeared and harshly backhanded him across the face. He told him not to have those sort of feelings for her and she shouldn't have any for him for two reasons: 1 because they are shinobi and they never know when their team mates will be taken from them and 2 because she is "different" referencing to her foreign blood. Since then she felt distant from her sensei.

She didn't shine until the middle of the chunin exams when her and her team were exhausted, and vulnerable. Two huge tigers came from the forest and began to circle the helpless trio. Thats when Serenata stood up on shaking knees and lifted her violin to her shoulder and tucked it under her chin. Never did the chin rest feel so soft in her life, so smooth and cool. It almost felt like her mothers hand on her skin, and it made her think of her family, and everyone who had helped her become a ninja when society and maybe fate said she couldn't. Suddenly she wasn't afraid and decided she was not going to die there. Her eyes flashed open and a fire awakened in her as the bow dragged across the strings while her fingers danced on the neck. The tigers growled and roared but she stood her ground and played like how she did on that one day but it wasn't chains of fantasia that brought life to the air it was the same song played by her ancestors for the kazekage and the mizukage, the same song that allowed her family to live. Her team mates were just as astonished as her when the tigers laid down and began to lick their paws with content and even yawn. She played until her legs nearly gave out while her team escaped.

Later on she found a stone with notes written on it in the middle of the forest. It was like someone erected a monument with instructions for a violinist at her level to find. She couldn't help herself and played the melody and to her surprise it was the same song she used on the tigers. Before her eyes a specter of Henry Wildfire appeared before her. He spoke with her telling her of their origins as Celtics and their escape from tyranny in hopes of finding a future, freedom, and a new beginning. He told her if she wanted to know the truth about her ancestors and unlock her true potential she would have to venture back across the sea to the land where they had immigrated from. He cried then as he had seen it from the other side of the grave and called it the dead lands where hollow men live and apologized that she may not like what she finds there. Before he passed back into the spirit realm she thanked him for being her ancestor and told him all she could do was try. He told her "No. You have done enough trying. Now is the time to start doing." As he faded away her team found her and showed they had acquired not just one set of heavens and earth scrolls but two and they moved to the finals.

During the final matches of the chunin exams one of their team was killed, before passing on he told her to play her best. It broke her heart and left her standing shocked in the hallway of the arena. He was always telling her how useless her songs were and to pick up a shuriken not the bow.
When it came her turn to battle she wanted badly to reach for her violin but she just couldn't play a single note. Her heart was so full of doubt, sorrow, and fear after seeing his eyes become dull and empty as death took him right from her arms. She only doged in time to not be decapitated but was beaten to a pulp, and stabbed twice in her leg. As her opponent stood over her with his foot on her neck he began to mock her, her deceased friend, and telling her it was funny how two dogs would die in one day. Looking up at the sky as she coughed up some blood she began to wonder if this was going to be the end when the words of Henry Wildfire came to her mind. "You have done enough trying, now its time to start doing." That's when it all made sense, the time when she impressed the sensei to train her so she could become a genin, the tigers, and now this. The whole time she was giving herself an excuse to fail, and rely on others to help her, so long as she was trying it looked like she was doing something and gave her the right to give up. Dreams didn't come true just by wishing for them and now if she didn't actually DO something they would never come true.
Taking his advice for once she grabbed a kunai off her opponents leg and sliced him through the calf. He jumped back in surprise as she got up on shaky knees almost falling on her face and looked up at him with a new look in her eye. Not a look of rage, or any emotion at all but sheer resolve without feeling or discrimination towards anyone she looks at. Her hand clasped her violin and lifted it to her chin. The other ninja struck first thinking he would cut her down before she could cast any sort of jutsu with that instrument of hers but he was met with a substitution jutsu and then his ears heard the song cry out from the shadows of the arena walls. At first it was beautiful and electrifying putting a chill down his spine and drawing his attention towards the tiny girl walking towards him with her eyes closed as she played a new ballad. Like before it came directly from her heart and soul, all the sorrow she felt for her deceased comrade. Her foe was stunned as his own memories of sadness came flooding back to him. Cursing her he pulled out a shuriken to throw at her but then she opened her red eyes as the pitch changed and a demonic squeal came from the stroke of her bow followed by a hiss. His body was paralyzed and his blood curtailed with terror. Suddenly he saw the defenseless girl he had hoped to eliminate with ease as a demon standing before him and he was in hell as the world spun around him. He felt the hopeless drowning feeling, doubt, fear, and the sorrow that was bottled up in her heart being cast on him. He let out the most inhuman howl anyone, even the anbu watching had ever heard and crumpled into a shivering heap on the ground. As this song worthy of the underworld played he cried until he sweat blood, and his muscles tensed until he died of asphyxiation. When he stopped moving and the proctor checked his vital signs he began to say: "I now proclaim this match..." The proctor was about to announce Serenata Wildfire as the winner but he stopped and stepped away from her covering his ears when she looked at him with empty eyes and lifted her bow to the bridge. The next song was no genjutsu or any trick. She played for the man who died by her hand, calling out to his soul beyond to ease his passing. It was long slow, deep heartfelt melody that silenced all the spectators for ten minutes that felt more like ten eternities while she wept serenely for the first man she would ever have to kill in her occupation. Serenata walked out of the arena in silence, they didn't need to announce the winner or declare the match to be over. The world now knew that what was just a spark had become a flame, which grew into a Wildfire, and a Wildfire had become a shinobi.

The next two years was spent with her sensei training her musical genjutsu talents so she can pull them off when she wanted to and not just in desperate spurs of the moment. Now that she was a chunin and a squad leader she couldn't count on miracles anymore, the mist village knew what she could do and had its eye on her.  Though she became skilled in musical genjutsu few times would they be able to compare with the times when she won in the chunin exam or played the song written on the stone in the forest to awaken her ancestors. Being weak in other areas like taijutsu, and ninjutsu cost her team a few almost grave injuries and a some missions failed because of her. Things were so much harder now. It wasn't like when she was a kid and she could just stand in the background quietly and let them make decisions and less times there was someone who could come to her rescue. She became tougher and more responsible as she matured but it wasn't making her a successful asset. A day finally came when she stood before the Mizukage at the time and set her headband on his desk. It was over, she was no ninja, she was just a musician and maybe that's how it was meant to be. The Mizukage agreed that there was a time of miracles but perhaps those days were spent. She returned home to her family who welcomed her regardless of her disobedience. On the wall of their family room she hung up her violin for the last time and stood looking at it. Her tool, weapon, friend, it wasn't easy to say goodbye but she just didn't want to play anymore.

When the festival for summer solstice came all the Wildfire gathered in the wheat fields for games, dancing, and bond fires. They may have moved to a new land but some of their Celtic and druid traditions remained. There was food prepared and costumes made to be worn under the moonlight. Her father put his arms around her and slipped something into her hands...it was her bow and the neck of her violin. "I just thought, since you have the chance to make new beginnings tonight maybe you don't have to throw away a gift just because your not going to use it as a kunoichi. Tell us your story, but not with your words." She sat holding what she hoped she'd never have to pick up again and watched the flames of the bonfire dance when coming through the air was a song she'd heard before. She looked up to see her father sitting up on the amphitheater stage behind his cello and playing like he did when he was a youth. He didn't look at her but she knew he was beckoning her, but not just him, all the Wildfire were calling to her. Tuning it up she brought her old friend back to life and danced, while playing, through the crowd until she joined her father on stage for a duet. That night she didn't just play but danced with more finess than any taijutsu could teach and just let the harmony of their duet control her body and spirit. When it was over and her father hugged her while her family cheered it was the first time she smiled since she quit being a ninja. Songs continued to sprout from her strings after that but she would still never use them for her government. Often going out alone farther and farther into the woods. It was like she was being guided by something and one day she ended a song when cold water rushed up onto her feet and opened her eyes to find herself standing on a beach far from home. Looking out onto the horizon as the sun rose with a rosy pink color she remembered what Henry Wildfire said about awakening her true potential and knowing the truth about her ancestors she would have to cross the sea and venture to the lands where hollow men live. It made sense and as far as she knew she had nothing to lose. She had no mate, she wasn't in the service of her countries military anymore, and what was she to do now? make tips off the street playing folk songs? As comfortable as that sounded it wasn't enough.

Leaving a note for her parents to know she wished them goodbye but couldn't bring herself to tell them personally she used her old ninja skills to slip out of the house quietly and make as far from her home as possible. Her note also apologized if she didn't return because she didn't know what she would find and her only friend would once again be her violin. Using some money she saved up while she was still a chunin she bought the services of some sailors to take her across the ocean promising them riches and treasure. Greed was always a good leverage. It was a long jouney and some of the crew became ill and died. It came to a point when things boiled over and they threatened her to either let them turn back or they would throw her corpse overboard. She reached for the shoulder strap of her case only to remember she left her violin in her cabin and didn't even have a kunai. Her back pressed up against the wall of the poop deck as the crew of angry sailors surounded and cornered her and she prepared to use her fists when "LAND! LAND! I see LAAAAAND!" a swabbie yelled from the crows nest pointing at a blue shape off in the distance. Everyone grabbed an ore even Serenata, and rowed until their bodies were numb. The bow of ship slid up onto dry sand and an anchor was thrown down. She jumped out and kissed the sand then looked up to see she wasn't the only one and began to laugh, though half a day ago they were threatening to kill her they laughed with her.

But the laughter would soon end. She left the ship crew behind to venture onto the mainland and head into the heart of a green country of rolling hills and tall trees. Taller than any threes she'd ever seen. Ancient ruins going back thousands of years and among them was a tower that looked like it could literally scrape the sky. Its walls were dark and gloomy, not a soul to be found among the lonely stones and dark clouds hung over head. Not wanting to look like a drown cat when she got back to the sailors camp she decided to take refuge inside the castle. Suits of armor, bear fur, carpets, antlers on the walls, and gold...gold everywhere. That made her smile, because now its as if she never lied to her faithful crew of salty sea dogs. Yet not a weapon to be found. No blade, club, mace, or bow and arrows. By the time it took her to reach what looked like a throne room a golden violin rested on the throne. It was so tantalizing to her for some reason and couldn't help but notice it didn't collect even a bit of dust and it was even still in tune. On the walls behind the throne music was carved into the stone and stretched around the room. Why would something like this be left here ready to play and there was a sheet all over the walls? connecting the dots she picked up the golden instrument and did exactly that. It took her an hour until the song was complete and then...nothing happened. Disappointed she turned to leave empty handed and without any answers when the room shook knocking her off her feet. The throne sunk and fell right through the floor leaving a gaping hole in the ground with stairs leading down into the darkness. The golden violin she just played stood upright against one of the stairs. Curious, of course, she went in.
Inside was a huge array of books, all filled with songs of old, history of the instruments creation, and reccords of past wars. One book even had the lineage of the Wildfire clan. They were called the wildfires apparently because they used to be known for causing mischief like lighting neighboring villages crops on fire. They were closely related to another family know as the "Robbs" which was just a nick name for Robbers, people who had gone around stealing sheep and goats. Then it caught her attention.

On an alter was a black book on a stand with markings like pentagrams used for spell casting and a celtic cross dangling from a chain on the front cover. Inside was a book of shadows made by the Matriarch of the Wildfires. It had all the forbidden songs, the ninja world would refer to these as forbidden jutsu, class S genjutsu types based on sound alone. But in these lands people would have used to call it witchcraft. With this...she could bring unity, peace, and prosperity to the great ninja nations..she could be a queen, an empress unchecked by anyone with ears. She could have anything she wanted, and could only imagine the good she could do. she picked up the book feeling a rush just touching the cover when something else fell off the alter onto the floor. It was a small harp covered in blood, as her eyes adjusted to the darkness she saw a figure sitting in a chair which made her gasp and jump back dropping the book of shadows. It didn't move and after a moment she realized it was the remains of a corps with an arrow stuck in its eye. Whoever it was, was trying to play something on that silver harp but apparently it was too late. Another book lay by the corpes feet. It was another timeline record. Most of it was covered in blood and she couldn't read it but she could read the last few pages.

"It is the year 12.......our rule has come to an end. To think we had such power and yet never had to lift a single blade, and no arrow soared through the air. We blessed this land with our light, we brought peace, and beauty. Even the mighty barbarians of the north have been conquered by our.........I knew there is a link between too much power and evil. Who knew something so beautiful as music could lead to something as ugly as slave labor, the abandoning of widows and orphans, and the loss of ones freedom to speak. We have done it, we should be content but we couldn't be happy with just being able to write history........They have come, the Mironites, the Havites, barbarians of the north, and the Nobi of the south. All those we have oppressed under our thumbs have summoned forth a brigade. They have cut off their own ears and even ripped out the organs that let them perceive sound their resolve to remove us is so great. I pray to the goddess that.......forgive us for abusing the language of the gods, and have mercy on our souls when we meet under the teribinth tree. To my dear daughter Isabella I pray you remember the song I taught you, and that you keep safe at sea. Let it be known, the price of any power is sacrifice.......they are coming.......t....."

Now she knew, her ancestors where not running from tyranny...they were the very tyrants that she despised. A race cursed by lust for power and evil arts of witchcraft. And even before that they were just a bunch of arisen causing trouble makers. Slowly turning she picked up the book and looked at it. Her eyes narrowed to a scowl of hate and discust as the pages crumpled in her hand. She couldn't return with this book, or she was no better. No one, could ever see its contents again. Out side she took it and the golden violin. She burned the book, and as it did a hideous howl came from the smoke and the strings on the golden violin broke. She wrapped it up in a heavy blanket to never unwrap it again. In a meadow she found a stone like the one in the forests of the chunin exam with notes written on it too. She spent days playing without rest all the songs it had to teach. The souls of her ancestors began to rise from the graves around her, and those who were impure and cursed with darkness were thrown down onto piles of wood to be burned by those who were pure and a great fire consumed everything in the grave yard accept Serenata. Once it was over the spirits of the pure of heart danced and joined in ghostly songs around the fire while she played until her body gave out and she collapsed. When she awoke the pirates who brought her there were carrying her and so much gold they worried the ship might sink.
But the pirates were happy and there was no need to mention the golden violin. Once they were out over the deep blue again she took the violin in its bundle of cloths and threw the golden instrument into the sea and watched it sink to the bottom of forgetfulness.

Now at age 20 she returns to the land of mist to apply for a jounin position, elite ninja and possibly a sensei to new students she hopes to influence in the right direction. But just as her foot set down on the docks she stopped to see her old sensei standing there waiting for her. Cautiously she approached suspecting he may be there to arrest or eliminate her for abandoning her village without notice and on a pirate ship full of illegal mercenaries. But to him he couldn't care less. "so you finally decided to show up." he mused only putting her on edge even more. She was about to speak when he stopped her planting two fingers on her lips and told her. "Whatever you saw, or did over there you mustn't tell anyone. I can tell by the look in your eyes the news would be grave to your father and mother...and I get enough from your mother. And to be honest, as much as I'd like to know, you cant tell me or anyone accountable to the principalities of these lands. What was done is done, and lets hope it was for your own good."  He turned to leave but she called out for him to wait. He turned and shrugged telling her to make it snappy as he was now on the clock for a minor mission. "Sensei..." She thought for a long time about it but her decision was made when that golden violin sank to the bottom of the ocean. "Sensei, I want to become a ninja again and serve my country as I should have done. I don't care if I have to start as a genin all over again so long as I just get the chance to make a difference." For once in five years her sensei smiled and patted the top of her head. And to her surprise he took something off his back, it was a case. Opening it for her inside was a violin with a redwood hue and a waxy shine. It was just perfect size for her too. "your parrents both worked hard to make this, they knew you'd finally return. It's made of carbon fiber so it wont break as easy if its dropped like a normal violin and you might even be able to use it to stop a knife. It can be played acoustically or electrically on an amplifier with the cord in the case. If so its made to be compatible with your lightning nature chakra so you wont need an outlet or batteries for your amplifier." She held the bow up and on the frog was a little button, when she pressed it a razor blade flipped out of the tip of the bow, hidden weapon that took even her off guard. "just....promise me one thing. Whatever you decide, always try your best." Taking his hand off her head and holding it in her own she smiled then hardened her expression with resolve to say: "No, am done trying..its time to start doing things."

In the setting sun it almost seemed like the two were having a student/teacher moment when suddenly her sensei said: "Ya Know, come to think of it, you really haven't gotten any taller since you were a chunin. I don't understand how anyone can stand being so short your like a little munchkin." His laughing was interupted by a punch to his stomach. "SENSEI!! DON'T CALL ME SHORT!"

...and thus her adventures as a ninja began anew.

Rp Sample: There was a time to play and a time to listen. Now was a time for Serenata to listen as she walked silently through the forest outside her home. The land of water often had a mist hanging over the ground and it was easy to get lost in the mist unless you really knew your way around. Sere, as some called her as it was shorter than serenata or others just called her wildfire by her last name, had not come to play just yet but listen to the harmony of nature. This was how she knew the eave of things, she could hear any tension in the air, by the birds songs, the rustle in the threes from the wind, cherping of crickets, and the bellowing toads. Up ahead as a special place for her on a hill where she could be found in the eavening almost everyday unless she was busy with orders from up top. It was a small hill where the ruins of an old shrine was erected. On the stone pillars of the ruins she carved out the notes of some songs she composed herself for future generations to see. Though none were weaponised, if they were songs from a jutsu she would keep those safe in the memory of her mind until the time came to teach to a worthy disciple.

Setting the steel case down and opening it to look at her old friend inside, the violin. She'd played many but whenever she picks one up its like she is picking up a piece of herself, something she has poured her heart and soul into. Lifting it up and plucking the strings to check its tune to fine some strings out of tune every so often and tightens them up on the knobs of the neck. Checking her bow next it looked good, but she wanted the hair to be a bit tighter to add more bounce to it so twisting the dial on the back the bow gets half a centimeter straighter. Clamped under her chin firm but gently and her bow resting on the E string she goes over each string unharmoniously as this was not a song but a test that had become habit and second nature. When all was fine and satisfied, a single low note rang out over the forest, the ruins must have been some kind of amphitheater as the sound was produced better there. There was a moment of silence before the rest began to follow. It began slow like a trickle in a drying up creek and slowly the temp rose as she hit more difficult notes. Then suddenly she jolted to stand up strait, look to the side, her feet and hands moved at the same time, as her hand trembled rigorously at her vibrado her feet made a swooshing action to seem like she was on wheels skating to the side and as the rythem changed so did her legs, bending and straitening to look like she was moon-walking in place, and her torso moved like a snake. She had to keep most of her upper body strait or it would mess up her playing but for the most part she was able to trance out and move to the sound of her own creation. As it came to a close she dragged it out for a few long high notes as she slowly bent foward till the scroll almost hit the ground. But then she exerted some chakra half on purpose and half on accident as she was thinking about it and not really cared if she did or not. As she stood up and lifted the bow from her strings while still doing a vibrato so the sound had a lasting echo, from within the echo the song began to continue on its own. Looking down she saw her shadow playing a shadow violin without her. she smiled at her genjutsu acting on itself. She was already practicing music, why not her jutsu too?

"Shadows duet." as she called it, it was a genjutsu she developed on her own. It worked by pouring her spiritual chakra into the air, and the sound created by her to echo and regenerate itself off the fading sounds of a vibrato. The shadow was just an avatar for the sound. The real sound was being bounced around from the ground where the shadow stands and the waves coming from the original source to sort of "clone" the sound she is making so that there are two violinists: her, and her shadow. She didn't use it for much, it didn't make any genjutsu of hers stronger it was more like a trick, something you practice to give you more control, or just show off.
But for now it was like a way of competing with herself. When she would play something the shadow would echo it back to her, and when she would move it would do the same but she would try to play better than her previous notes and move smoother as if she was trying to beat another musician just as good as herself. But then to make things more interesting she let the shadow get ahead of her and do things in her mind that she thinks before her hands can play them so she has to catch up to herself and be faster than even the impulses in her head. A swordsmen or taijutsu specialist does the same thing in shadow boxing when facing an imaginary opponent, this is the same idea accept her imaginary person is herself brought to life accept although its a competition they are also being in harmony with each other. It ends with them both playing separate parts of the same song to complete the other and then finally both end on the same note before turning to face the other then bowing to no one since she was alone.
